19–275mm Cooled Thermal Camera

Thermal cameras, unlike traditional visible cameras, use heat rather than light to see an object. Humans, animals, and vehicles are very hot in contrast to most backgrounds making trespassers hiding in shadows or bushes easy to spot. Thermal images are unaffected by bright light and have the ability to see through atmospheric obstructions such as smoke, dust, and light fog. This makes it an ideal technology for a number of applications, including but not limited to surveillance and security, search and rescue, fire response, marine and land navigation, and wide area situational assessment.

MWIR Cooled InSb or MCT Thermal Detector

Infiniti’s 15μm 640×480 cooled thermal sensors use integrated cryo-coolers to chill the sensors down to -196°C. This allows MWIR cameras to use smaller and more powerful lenses than uncooled LWIR cameras, however the cyrocoolers do require maintenance at regular intervals of approximately 8000~25,000 hours.

14X Continuous Zoom Lens

The cooled thermal core is paired with our precision-engineered ƒ5.5 germanium zoom lens featuring a 14X optical zoom range from 19mm to 275mm for long-range detection of thermal targets. The 14X optical zoom range offers anything from a 28.4° to 2.0° field of view, and pixel detail as high as 18.3ppm at 1 kilometer. These lenses also feature auto focus capabilities, delivering crisp, clear images even when adjusting zoom, ensuring optimal performance and situational awareness in the wide field of view and crisp details in the narrow field of view.

Long-Range Detection

Our 19–275mm Cooled Thermal Camera is a Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) camera which means it operates on 3,000nm–5,000nm wavelengths where terrestrial temperature targets emit most of their infrared energy. Using our 19–275mm continuous zoom lens and the built-in Dynamic Image Contrast Enhancement (DICE) for increased contrast and image clarity, this camera is capable of detecting vehicles up to 20km away or humans at distances up to 8.5km.* While thermal is a significant investment, its superior range and performance allows it to replace and outperform other solutions, making it a viable option for many applications.
