What is SWaP (Size, Weight and Power)?

Glossary Definition

SWaP is an Acronym commonly used in the security/aerospace industries. It stands for Size Weight and Power, referring to the size, weight and power consumption requirements of specific components in systems or for the whole system itself.

It’s common for systems to require “low SWaP” components, meaning a very small amount power use and limited size and weight allowances. Lower SWaP components are necessary for highly efficient systems like UAVs that need to be light and run on battery, or mobile deployment products that benefit from reduced weight, size and power usage. Infiniti Electro-Optics has long a history of delivering EO/IR camera systems within a compact footprint and low power requirements while maintaining the quality and performance our military and tactical customers have come to expect.
