Demonstration video of two different Fog/Haze mitigation methods. Optical and Digital Fog Mitigation are applied both independently, and together, to show the effects of each in extremely heavy fog.

What is an uncooled LWIR Thermal Infrared FLIR Camera and why is it often a  better choice than MWIR Cooled Thermal Cameras? | Infiniti Electro-Optics

This video demonstrates that the wavelengths used by a LWIR thermal camera cannot see through regular window glass. However, the camera can see through the germanium window which appears shiny and reflective to the human eye.

The Handheld Thermal Camera operates in the LWIR Range with a 17um sensor and a 13mm fixed lens.

Eclipse, A Rugged, Mobile Night Vision PTZ Camera | Infiniti Electro-Optics

Infiniti is excited to release our new Eclipse PTZs equipped with our advanced AI for detection and auto-tracking of small UAV's such as the DJI Phantom. This Eclipse PTZ features an 88X zoom VIS/NIR camera module offering an equivalent focal length of 5.6-550mm on a 1/1.8" sensor and an FOV equivalent to a full frame DSLR with a 1300mm lens. Optional uncooled LWIR 120mm fixed thermal or 14X zoom 19-275mm MWIR cooled thermal modules can also be added. What is an uncooled LWIR Thermal Infrared FLIR Camera and why is it often a  better choice than MWIR Cooled Thermal Cameras? | Infiniti Electro-Optics

This is a video showing a mountain from 15km away, while looking through the wildfire smoke around Cranbrook, BC. 

4 different wavelengths are shown in this video to demonstrate the smoke/fog penetration abilities of thermal imaging.

The main camera is an 8MP 49X Visible Camera to show how bad the smoke is. It is also equipped with a Near-Infrared Visible Cut Filter to show that looking at a target in NIR can help penetrate some smoke and fog. But, not as much as a thermal camera.

The other 2 cameras are filming in Mid-wave Infrared [Thermal] (top right) and Long-Wave Infrared [Thermal] (bottom right).

All 3 Cameras were filming at the same time. And, were looking at the same target mountain 15km away.

 

Vega Camera System , A Military-Grade Long‑Range MWIR/LWIR Thermal &  Visible PTZ Surveillance Camera | Infiniti Electro-Optics

Long-Range 135X Zoom Lens

The VEGA, ARC and Sigma can be equipped with our precision engineered 15.5–2075mm IR-corrected zoom lens with our Integrated Zoom Extender (IZE), offering an incredible 135X zoom range from 19.3° through to a very narrow 0.15° FOV when paired with the 1/2.8" sensor. That's equivalent to a “full-frame” DSLR camera using a 10,000mm lens. Infiniti’s IZE doubler outperforms standard doublers both in quality and uptime. Image sharpness remains high (90% vs the 40–60% of most doublers) and there is no image blackout when enabling or disabling the IZE. The lens also incorporates a motorized fog filter that is used with the camera’s monochrome mode and de-haze image processing to see through haze, smoke and light fog that render standard visible cameras unusable. Infiniti’s long-range 135X zoom range camera is a perfect synergy between state-of-the-art hardware and the latest image processing for unparalleled range and performance.

 

Visible/NIR CMOS HD Day/Night Camera                                                                                          

The camera is designed and optimized for long range surveillance. It uses a 1/2.8" or 1/1.8" Starlight progressive scan CMOS sensor with an HD resolution of 1920×1080 and a fantastic signal to noise ratio of 55dB. The CMOS sensors have excellent spectral sensitivity for both visible and NIR wavelengths and features an automatic IR cut filter, making it a true day/night camera with clear color images by day and high-sensitivity black and white images at night. The 1/1.8" sensor’s fantastic low light sensitivity gets the most detail out of the lower light levels that are an unavoidable reality with long-range lenses. The Viper also integrates the latest technology in real-time image processing such as BLC, HLC, WDR, EIS, 3D DNR, ABF, Defog/Haze etc. Each of these image enhancements can be automatic or user-defined and calibrated based on the application requirements. Since the camera is native IP, all of these settings can be changed and configured remotely, along with remote PTZ and zoom control.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

Optional ZLID™ Laser Illumination (Night Vision)

Infiniti's ZLID IR illumination allows for detailed video when there isn't enough natural light, however for long-range IR illumination a laser is needed. Many laser illuminators overexpose the center of the screen and leave the edges dark. Infiniti’s ZLID (Zoom Laser IR Diode) technology synchronizes the IR intensity and area illumination with the zoom lens for outstanding active IR performance, eliminating over-exposure, washout, and hot-spots for clear images in complete darkness.

The Triton is a rugged, all-weather portable turn-key PTZ camera system. Its 30X HD day/night zoom camera provides both wide angle and long range capabilities with a horizontal field of view ranging from 62 to 2.3 degrees. This will satisfy users that want to see the smallest of details and demand the best possible image quality. It allows the user to see more detail and detect smaller objects from a further distance. Coupled with a high sensitivity sensor, and leading germanium optics, this camera offers extreme long-range performance and excellent image quality.

 

Cooled InSb & MCCT Thermal Imager
The Vega contains a high sensitivity 15μm cooled InSb or MCT sensor with a resolution of 640×480 and an ultra-long cooler lifetime of 20,000 hours MTBF. The cooled sensor is able to detect differences in temperature as small as ±0.02°C. This provides more detail for tracking of targets at extreme ranges in total darkness and through most obscurants.

 

22X Continuous Zoom Germanium Lens
The cooled InSb thermal core is paired with a precision-engineered germanium zoom lens allowing you to view targets with a 22X optical zoom range from 38mm to 875mm. This allows for excellent detection of thermal targets by offering anything from a 14° to 0.65° horizontal field of view. These lenses also feature auto focus capabilities, delivering crisp, clear images even when adjusting zoom. This ensures optimal performance and situational awareness in the wide field of view and crisp details in the narrow field of view.

 

Extreme Long Range Detection
The Vega is a Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) thermal camera which means it operates on 3,600nm–4,900nm wavelengths where terrestrial temperature targets emit most of their infrared energy. Using the built-in Dynamic Image Contrast Enhancement (DICE) for increased contrast and image clarity, the Vega can detect vehicles over 50km.  DRI) with our 1,400mm option. While thermal is a significant investment, it outperforms all other long-range detection solutions, making it the best option for many applications such as perimeter security, border enforcement and coastal surveillance.
